This page commemorates two people who individually and together, steadfastly demonstrated that education is a cornerstone and ultimate equalizing path to universal civil rights.

Drs. Charles and Jeanne Morris

Charles and Jeanne Morris are lifelong educators, advocates, and community leaders. They broke new ground at Illinois State University and in the Bloomington-Normal community in the 1960s onward: advancing diversity in STEM and education, challenging housing discrimination, building support structures for underrepresented students, and leaving philanthropic and institutional legacies that continue today.
